A. Distance learning does not provide the same educational experience as compared to traditional learning. In a traditional learning classroom, a teacher is present in the classroom to provide instruction, answer questions, and evaluate student knowledge. There are no delays between student questioning and teacher responses. Through distance learning, there may be extended periods of time between student and teacher correspondences. Although distance learning can provide global make-up of classrooms, person instruction tends to be lacking.
With that being said, however, technology and online tools are vastly closing that gap. With planning and prep time, a distance class can be almost as relative as a traditional class. Online recording of lectures, videos, PowerPoint, online aids, and collaboration can make a distance class much easier. If I was not a full-time teacher and coach, I would rather be in a classroom taking classes. I do well in distant, online classes, however, I tend to do even better sitting in a classroom.
